COVID-19 Notice

In line with government recommendations in relation to the COVID-19 pandemic, you must show proof of being fully vaccinated to gain entry at our Hunter Region training centre.

Although vaccination is not mandatory to undertake first aid training with Australia Wide First Aid, venues may require full vaccination status for entry to the premises.

This is the venue's policy, based on state government requirements. Showing proof of your vaccination will allow entry.

HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation

Provide CPR, included in all our first aid training courses, is a game-changer where there's a breathing emergency or the heart has just stopped beating.

Training and assessment includes performing 2 minutes of CPR on a manikin.

Total class time for this course is 2 hours. There is e-Learning beforehand which you can probably finish in quick time, depending on your learning ability. Allowing 2.5 hours for the reading and online quiz should generally be more than enough time.

CPR is an essential life-saving skill, which Safe Work Australia recommends to renew every 12 months.

HLTAID011 Provide First Aid

Provide First Aid is our most popular course and a minimum requirement for workplace first aid compliance.

This course covers basic life support, first aid response for medical emergencies, and the DRSABCD strategy which prioritises a first aider's actions, step by step.

Allow up to 6 hours for reading and e-Learning. This will depend on your learning ability, but most students complete this in much shorter time. Hands-on training and assessment is 4 hours in a classroom environment. Your trainer will guide you through a range of first aid skills, including CPR, the appropriate use of an AED, EPI-pens, and asthma inhalers, as well as important bandaging techniques.

Also known as Emergency First Aid, the Child Care First Aid course has a focus on first aid as applied to children and infants.

This is ideal for parents and carers, and is the course of choice for people who work in the childcare and education sectors.

Allow up to 6 hours for reading and e-Learning. This will depend on your learning ability, but most students complete this in much shorter time. Hands-on training and assessment is 5 hours in a classroom environment.

Being able to provide first aid is an occupational requirement for childcare and education workers.

Qualifying for First Aid – Hunter Region

To be qualified in first aid you need a certificate issued by a nationally recognised training provider, such as Australia Wide First Aid (RTO 31961).

Completing your training and assessment with us is an assurance that you will gain a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment in first aid.
